What has your experience been with the patch, Ortho Evra, for birth control?

I just recently started using the patch as my method of birth control. I am a little skeptical about it. Im afraid to sleep on it, or get it wet in the shower, or have it rub against my bra or jeans. Am I over reacting? How has the patch been working for you? Thanks the advice….

I had no problems with the patch in the way of effectiveness. I wore it on my hip and never had problems. It did rub against my clothes, but no big issues. Don’t be afraid to sleep or shower on the patch… it’s super sticky for a reason. Unless it is obviously coming off of your body, it should be fine.

I had other issues with the patch. My skin was terrible, and after a year on Ortho Tri-cyclen, I noticed a HUGE difference in my personality. Mainly during the PMS time, about a week before my period, I had huge mood swings. I was way more emotional than I ever was on the pill, and I hated the way it made me feel.

I changed back to the pill. It was easier for me to remember and I had the piece of mind of taking it every day and knowing that it was doing its job.
