The official start of Spring typically also marks the beginning of the beach wear season as well. Between Spring Breaks, Memorial Day and the anticipation of summer vacation and weekends spent at the beach – women across the country begin the search for the perfect bikinis! We believe that no matter what your size or body type, there is a bikini out there for you!

Doughy midsection: The not so quite flat stomach is public enemy #1 for women. Millions are spent on diet aids, ab-rollers and work out videos promising to whittle inches of fat off your tummy in 30 days or less. They are usually an epic fail, but that doesn’t stop us from trying! If your stomach is still an issue for you, we advise going with a tankini style suit. They provide the torso coverage of a one piece, but the trend and style of a two piece with it’s classic bikini bottom. The great thing about the tankini is that although you’re getting full coverage in the top, you can mix and match the bottoms to various styles.

Thicker Thighs/Full Bottom: The best option for hiding flabby thighs is suits with built in skirts. Depending on the amount of coverage you desire, you can find suits with “mini” skirts (i.e. the skirt hem will fall just near the buttocks line) or suits with longer skirts. You can also opt for a detachable covering such as a sarong or wrap. This won’t help you much once you’re in the water though.

Small Chest: Bandeau tops, triangle shaped tops and ruffled bikinis are ideal for women with a smaller bust. Bright and neon colors also flatter the smaller chest as well. Fit will be very important for you – and you’ll want to avoid one pieces or suits with too much fabric.

Bigger Chest: Who says bigger is always better? When it comes to finding the perfect bikini, larger breasts can be public enemy #2! Bigger breasts are, of course – heavier. The heavier they are, the more support they will require. Look for bikini tops that feature a wide strap or underwire for support. Halter top styles are also a great way to control the support you’ll need.

No Waist/Boy Shaped: The first thing you’ll want to do is avoid solid colors and one piece suits. This will make you look square and boxy. Bikini’s with embellishments or texture on the bottom are great. Look for suits with ruffled bottoms or bottoms with belted/banded waist lines. Adding this extra fabric at the hip will give the illusion of a curve in the waist.

Plus Size Shape: Solid colors and one piece suits are going to work best for you. Muted colors and dark colors are most ideal. V-Necklines are great, primarily when then top is a halter style that types at the neck. Look for suits with adjustable lengths/ruching at the hip. Depending on your size and comfort levels – you may want to wear a two piece. If this is the case, follow the tips given for thicker thighs/full bottoms and larger chest ladies.
